Lagoon initial direction and sketches
We first thought of ideas, i looked at creating concepts to do with anamorphic imagery/text, lenticular printing and concepts that the viewers need to be in a certain spot to see what is on display.
Sketches on taken images of ideas.
Idea
Our group chose 4 different locations at the lagoon. One site was a site for viewing the Whairepo, one was a anamorphic text that says "Whairepo Lagoon, one was an interactive map of the lagoon where you can draw out where you saw the whairepo with chalk and the last was an anamorphic sculpture of a whairepo.

V5
The lookout point overlooks the lagoon from the City to Sea bridge and is the first point of contact, and a point of contact that leads you to the other installations around the lagoon that are visible from this vantage point such as the anamorphic text on the stairs by (the boatshed/karaka cafe).
The idea behind this concept is that there is a custom made viewing machine that acts as an oversized magnifying glass. The viewing machine is made enhance the the experience of finding and viewing the Whairepo in the lagoon.

Group Idea
After researching precedents for tsunami safety and wayfinding, we decided to create an augmented reality app that directs you to designated safe zones in the city. After a group feedback session, we found having a physical component to accompany the app would strengthen the idea.

Beacon idea sketch
We decided that a beacon would be a good way to bring awareness to the app as promotional material as well as point out where tsunami safe zones are in the city. We thought that having these beacons deploy in an emergency would be good for people who wouldn't go on their phones to use the app in an emergency.
First beacon concept in situation.

Week 11 presentation feedback
- Consider writing on beacon - Testing wind resistance? - are civil defence going to have to go out of their way to deal with inflating beacons? (Adding to civil defences responsibilities - Tangible aspect of having a beacon alongside the app is good - Will the lifesavers light up? - Other metaphors of safety - Colour choice. Orange associated with traffic, blue and yellow associated with civil defence, red associated with danger and emergencies - Don’t need to mock up the life saver, more app screens instead - Life savers less realistic, more like logo? More of an identity.
